NSUKKA—–The University of Nigeria Alumni Associations (UNAA) has applauded the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Soludo on the appointment of Prof Phil O. Phil-Eze as Managing Director of Anambra State Erosion, Watershed and Climate Change Agency (ANSEWCCA).
In a statement issued on Friday in Nsukka and signed by Dr. Linda Agua-Onyekwelu, National President of UNAA, made available to newsmen, she said that the appointment of Phil-Eze an alumni of UNN did not come to the association as a surprise but as a reward for hard work.
Agua-Onyekwelu explained that Phil-Eze is one of the erudite professors in UNN who have distinguished himself both in academics and other leadership positions held in the university and outside.
According to the statement, ” i’m not surprised on the appointment of Phil-Eze by Gov Soludo as the director of ANSEWCCA because I know he is very intelligent, humble, hardworking and God-fearing.
“This is a great testimony to his numerous contributions to climate change studies in Nigeria.
“We are glad that his past records and dedication to duty in his profession has been noticed by the Anambra State Government.
“I have no doubt that the appointment will add value and move the agency to the next level because he will bring his wealth of experience to bear as a professor of Biogeography.
“On behalf of UNAA we say congratulations to both Phil-Eze and Governor Soludo, our association pledges to support them in whatever way within our capacity,” Agua-Onyekwelu said.
