….embarks on campaign

NSUKKA—The Executive Secretary of the Enugu State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (ENS-PHCDA), Dr. George Ugwu, has embarked on aggressive campaigns for the Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s Senatorial bid in the forthcoming election.
Governor Ugwuanyi is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for Enugu North Senatorial District.
Dr. Ugwu said he was pushed to embark on the campaign in recognition of the giant strides of the governor in the healthcare sector across the state.
The ENS-PHCDA boss said that given the outstanding performance of Ugwuanyi as Governor of Enugu State, he is certain that he would do more as Senator representing Enugu North District.
He highlighted some of the Governor’s achievements in health sector to include: construction and equipment of several functional model Type-3 Primary Healthcare Centers in some local government areas of the state; adequate fight against Covid-19 and sustainable reduction of cases.
Others are: eradication of polio cases in the state through immunisation; reduction in maternal and child mortality rate through enhanced healthcare services; and improvement of PHC infrastructures and drugs by direct transfer of over N1,000,000 to 260 PHCs located in each political ward in the state.
He equally said that the Governor improved the personnel of Primary Healthcare Centres in the state by deployment of over 20 medical doctors and 100 adhoc nurses/midwives to PHCs.
He also said that he has sustained reduction of Yellow Fever Disease in the state.
The Executive Secretary in his support for Governor Ugwuanyi, printed several banners, posters, and billboards, among others which he mounted across strategic locations and several health centres within the Senatorial District.
Some of the health centres where the campaign materials were mounted included Enugu Ezike, Ero Agu, Ajih, Obimo, Aku, Ukehe, Obukpa, Iheaka, Ette, Ovoko, Ibagkwa Aka, Ichi, Ozalla, Ohodo.
Others, are Obollo-Afor, Obollo-Eke, Obollo-Etiti, Amalla, Orba, Imilike-Agu, Imilike-Uno, Nkpolugu, Ugbene-Ajima, Ovuru, Opanda among others.
Apart from the communities, Dr. Ugwu also spread the campaign posters and banners across over 200 healthcare centres in Enugu North Senatorial District.
