The All Progressives Youth Forum (APYF) has described as tissue of lies a piece credited to a group, Omisore media team, wherein it claimed some billions of naira went missing from the Osun state coffers.
APYF also deflated another claim alleging a staff of the state government, Mr. Wasiu has access to state funds, and that there is a safe house for funds in existence somewhere in the state.
In the statement signed by APYF and made available to newsmen on Monday, it called on the general public and the good people of the state to disregard the claim by the Omisore Media team, saying there is no iota of truth within it.
The statement reads thus:
“Our attention has been drawn to a piece that is being circulated on Social Media credited to the Omisore media team. These lying devils are at it again.
With elections just around the corner, we are not surprised by any of these developments but the records have to be set straight.
Mr. Wasiu is a dedicated staff of the government house who has served with all diligence and currently out of the country officially on leave to rest and recharge.
It is important to also note that Wasiu’s duties do not involve handling of any form of cash and the story about the existence of a safe house full of cash is just a figment of the imagination of these twisted minds.
As this was a common practice when they were in government, it is not hard to see why they would expect others to follow suit.
Last week, these shameless elements said it was 2bn that was stolen; this week, they say it’s N300m. What will they say tomorrow? This is nothing but the figment of their very putrid Imagination, laced with projection of their evil minds.
Anyway, this is what they did when they were in Government. The faceless Omisore Media Team is dubious and confused.
It is sad that electioneering can be a blinding force and there are no lines that these unscrupulous elements are not willing to cross.
Kabir Aregbesola remains a private citizen who holds no office in this government. One would expect that the institution of family would be sacred but these uncloth nonentities do not have such regards.
This poor attempt at deceiving the people of Osun has failed as the people have continually demonstrated their love, understanding and support to this government.
We urge the government to focus on the good work it is doing in the state of Osun and not allow elements like this distract it.”
