The United States congress has impeached Donald Trump as the president of America.

Trump was impeached by majority lawmakers during a house vote.

Trump was impeached after the lawmakers in favour of his impeachment, the “yes” sayers got 232 votes, the nay-sayers who were against his impeachment got 197 votes while 5 lawmakers declined voting.

Trump who was elected in 2015 is due to complete his tenure on 20th of January, 2020.

Trump was impeached for “

incitement of insurrection” at last week’s Capitol riot.

He is the first president in US history to be twice impeached – to be charged with crimes by Congress.

Mr Trump, a Republican, will now face a trial in the Senate, where if convicted he could face being barred from ever holding office again.
