While the current cause of the crashing of the social media platforms is yet to be known, the social medial platforms are yet to come live.
Meanwhile, recently, hackers have been attacking some accounts on the social media platforms, and the platforms have on some occasions, removed accounts they believe to be those of hackers.

All the three platforms, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp and run on shared infrastructure.
“Sorry, something went wrong. We’re working on it and we’ll get it fixed as soon as we can,” a message on the Facebook website said.
WhatsApp acknowledged the outage on Twitter:
We’re aware that some people are experiencing issues with WhatsApp at the moment. We’re working to get things back to normal and will send an update here as soon as possible.
The website downdetector.com, which tracks web services, also reported a sharp spike in complaints by users.
