Breaking: Ex-Chief of Defence staff, Alex Badeh shot dead

 Former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, has allegedly been shot dead by unknown gunmen.

According to TVC news,  Badeh was shot dead while he was on his way back to Abuja Tuesday evening.

The report claimed the former Air Chief Marshal was travelling back to Abuja with his driver when he was shot.

The report also claimed Badeh’s driver was also shot.

The military has since recovered the Badeh’s body.

Meanwhile, the air force has confirmed the death of Badeh. It made the confirmation in a couple of tweets on its official Twitter handle.

Accroding to the tweets, “It is with a heavy heart that I regretfully announce the unfortunate demise of former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, who died today, 18 Dec 18, from gunshot wounds sustained when his vehicle was attacked while returning from his farm along Abuja-Keffi Road.

“On behalf officers, airmen and airwomen of the Nigerian Air Force, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Abubakar, commiserates with the family of the late former Chief of Defence Staff over this irreparable loss. We pray that the Almighty God grants his soul eternal rest.”

Badeh was a retired four star flag officer of the Nigerian Air Force who served as the 18th Chief of Air Staff (Oct 4, 2012- January 16,2014) and the 15th Chief of Defence Staff of the armed forces of Nigeria (January 16, 2014 – July 13,2015).
