Mr Adeyanju who announced his resignation from the movement however accused Charly Boy of betraying the very cause of the movement which he said is fighting against injustice, mis-governance and oppression.

Recall that the “Our Mumu Don Do” movement had launched a continuous protest which forced the Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari to cut short his medical treatment abroad last year.

The group had staged protests both in Nigeria and in front of the Abuja House in US where the President was receiving treatment over till date, undisclosed ailment.

Although the president is long back to Nigeria and has remained very healthy, the group, continued its protest against bad governance and what it described as illegal detention of political opponents by the current government.

Mr. Adeyanju was recently released from prison after spending  over 78 days. But days after his return, he took to his twitter handle to announce his resignation from the movement, citing betrayal from his former partner and convener of the movement, Charly Boy.

According to Adeyanju, Charly Boy “betrayed the cause” while he was away in prison “and compromised with the oppressors.”

Speaking to Vanguard on phone, he alleged that Charly Boy received bribe from the very ‘oppressors’ the movement had set out to condemn, thereby undermining and subverting the cause of the movement.

According to him, “Dear Nigerians, I have resigned my membership of Our Mumu Don. I no longer have confidence in the leader of the movement, Charly Boy. He betrayed the cause while I was away in prison and compromised with the oppressors. Thank you.

“How can we speak up against politicians, then turn out to be worse than them?”
