The Chairman of GCU Relays Committee, Mr Ejiro Omonode, on Friday, November 17, presented spikes, running shoes, track suits and itehr sporting items donated by Sir Joseph Arumemi-Ikhide for the use of GCU students. In all, 10 pairs of: running shoes; spikes; track suits; shorts and vests; and socks were presented at a ceremony in the school.
The presentation of the materials was made a day ahead of the 5th edition of GCU Relays which takes place on Saturday, November 18 at the athletics field.
Omonode advised the school authority to monitor the use of the items adding that it should be a motivation for the students to do better. Receiving the items on behalf of the school, Mrs Cynthia Okporoma, Head of Sports, said: “We are grateful for the items, it is what we have been yearning for.”
